if we wear a mask for too long we identify with the mask

which is why the great acts of redemption are reflected by new personas, new masks

what's most important isn't the new mask exactly, but the fact we moved, that we changed. That we defied stagnation. When we do these things we are celebrating life. movement and flexibility is how we're born, stiff is how we die.

the new masks aren't our true selves yet

but they are selves we created or chose for ourselves

we're forced to adapt to a mask when we were kids, we associated with pleasure and rejected pain. thus we created a crude way to maximize one and minimize another. but we didn't choose the results, we adapted as things came. there was no design.

part of being an adult is creating your own mask and bearing the responsibilities of it

we aren't free

but we have developed the desire to be free by choosing our own mask

Last Day of Fasting.

4am in the morning.
This is the last day of fasting, well at least for 2010, before the whole process repeats itself again.
I'm sweating hot, i haven't had a shower since approximaely 26 hours ago. I stink really badly, especially under
my armpits.

Just had a wank and i ought to go take a dump and wash up before i have my breakfast. Followed by my sleep.

I'm going to pack my pc up and keep it in the store room. This will give me time to study for my promo ones. Hopefully i'll be able to pull up some magic trick and come out first in level for sum subjects, well.. I hope so.
I've got to prove something aye?

Well this whole week's been terribly boring.
I haven't done anything productive, i've gotten myself into trouble with my dad. And the future looks bleak. The immediate future i meant.

I'm going to be short on funds. ( When have i ever been not short on funds aye? ) Probably won't be receiving my monthly allowance. Hari Raya Green Packets won't be coming either. Definately not thinking bout asking for forgiveness from my father. Unless he seeks forgiveness from us first. ;)

That means no Crumpler backpack. Also that means i won't be able to frequent the canteen much either. This is going to be hard. I'd survive definately but it would be nice to see me shed some pounds at the same time. So far all i've done is lost some water weight and that's about it.

Nothing much eh...
plans plans plans. I've got to work on my priorities. Gym more Often, been telling myself this over and over again for the past fucking year. It's about time i get to do it.

Oh speaking of fitness, there'll be no Rugby Training anymore. I can't go for MMA classes with Jerome and Andrew, cus I don't have any money to pay. I feel dirt poor. I'll definately have to start attending P.E. well I'm being made to anyway.

Contrary to the negativity i'm bringing about in this sudden burst of misfortune.
Let's look at the bright side and the positive effects that i shall benefit out of this.

-Fitter.
-Smarter.
-Tougher.
-More intellectually and physically attractive.
-More time for friends.
-Management of funds.

the list goes on and on.
I really can't be arsed.

bye bye world of warcraft. bye bye :(

Well let's see. I'm going to wrap this post up and get a shower. Heat my food up. And start packing the PC up.

Enlightened

Creative people who want to make a difference have a million and one opportunities and distractions.
To engage them means an ethic which is intolerent of negativity rigid thinking and self promotion.

21st Century Enlightenment

It has become a cliche that education is the most valuable resource in the global knowledge economy.
I would argue that Fostering Empathic Capacity is Just as Important to achieving a world of citizens at peace with each other & with Themselves

oh gosh

The Research is clear if you want to be a happier person, don't read self help book.
Have Happier Friends.

21st Century Enlightenment

The Laws of
Nature Failed
To CONFORM to
religious Doctrine
& ALSO INTUITION.

so, the pope might have said the sun went round the earth
it might have felt like the sun went round the earth.
but
Science shows otherwise.

And i think the insights into human nature have a similar double impact
also unsettling our intuitive sense of ourself in the world.

Most of our behaviour including social interaction is a result to us responding automatically to
the world around us rather than the outcome of concious decision making and in this sense

IT'S MORE REALISTIC
TO SEE OURSELVES
AS INTEGRALLY
CONNECTED TO THE
SOCIAL & NATURAL
WORLD...

...Rather than a
seperate, wholly
Autonomous Entity

21st Century Enlightenment

WE ARE VERY VERY BAD
AT PREDICTING WHAT
WILL MAKE US HAPPY
AND WE ARE EVEN BAD
AT DESCRIBING WHAT MADE
US HAPPY IN THE PAST.

Really wish i could buy one of these

And I don't know why ya feel so bad.
Where is the life ya once had?
And still this horrid feeling, grows and grows the way ya want it to.
Even though you've waited so long to see the day when she will turn to you again.
So long my friend, is what you say.
