The awesome stone slab -what would be known unto them as a “building”- stood unrivalled amidst the curious drone of danger: a flow of traffic roared in between the scarce row of trees below, flowing on through the opaque river of solid granite.

The sparrow pecked its head downward, looking toward the human beings as waves of them strutted into the block of stone. It observed the quaint beings uncertainly, failing to comprehend the benefits of their choice of nesting. As far as it was concern, the hard insides of this rock would be incapable of bringing warmth or comfort.

The sparrow
composed a series of abrupt chirps and with that it skipped off that very cold block and settled its feathers upon the wind. It had yet to fulfil the demands of a hungry belly; stably relaying itself through the unsteady breeze, the sparrow waited impatiently for a familiar scent, one capable enough to change its course.

It found satisfaction amidst the cluttering of human utensils, readying itself, it struck forward into the hunting grounds, armed with an acute anticipation, it found itself dodging pass a volley of hammering attacks as the clumsy feet of humans strolled back and forth around the sparrow. The sparrow watched them fearfully, as it realised the only dire fate it would meet were it to remain amidst the humans’ assault: It would only be left to rest upon the cold slabs as their relentless bombardments rain down heavily on its remains. Its feathers tightened up at the very thought and it made even more desperate attempts at fleeing.

As a ray of light found entrance past the gargantuan beings, it chirped excitedly at a gap in the attacks of its predators; a chance of flight. Upward it began to soar, its feelings rose up excitedly, at last it could feel the caressing breeze, and upward the sparrow flew, reaching anxiously for its rescue. The sparrow flapped its wings dearly, catching hold of the great rushing of wind; it was pulled out of oblivion.

Instinct guided the sparrow’s path and a familiar structure began to enter its sights as a drone of speed circled into the air: ahead, waves of the beings strutted into the cold, stone structure,
the awesome stone slab -what would be known unto them as a “building”- stood unrivalled.
